Ealing Painters
Privacy notice
This notice explains what personal information Ealing Painters collects through this website, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have.
Who we are
Ealing Painters, Ealing, London W5, is the controller of the personal information described in this notice. For any privacy question or request, email info@ealingpainters.co.uk.
What we collect
When you use the Instant Quote or contact us, we collect:
- your name, phone number and email address;
- the property address and postcode;
- project details, such as the rooms or surfaces, their condition and the finish you want;
- photos you upload;
- your contact preferences;
- technical data, such as your IP address, which we use only in hashed (scrambled) form to detect spam and abuse.
How we use it and our lawful basis
- Preparing your estimate and quote, arranging a video call or visit, and passing your project details to the decorator who will price and carry out the work. Lawful basis: taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- Preventing spam and misuse of the site. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in keeping the site and our inbox secure.
- Keeping records of enquiries and work. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in managing enquiries, and legal obligations such as accounting.
- Call and visit tracking. Lawful basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
- The independent decorator or decorators who review, price and carry out your work.
- Our website hosting and email providers, acting on our behalf.
- WhatConverts, our call and visit tracking provider, only if you accept analytics cookies.
- Professional advisers or public authorities, where the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information. Some providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer must be covered by UK adequacy regulations or other safeguards approved under UK law.
Your photos
Photos you upload are stored privately and are not published on the website. When a decorator needs to see them, they are shared through private links that expire.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not go ahead, we delete it after 24 months. Where work goes ahead, we keep records for as long as we need them for legal, tax and accounting purposes, or to deal with any dispute.
Cookies and similar technologies
- Your cookie choice. A strictly necessary preference remembers whether you accepted or declined optional cookies, so you are not asked on every page.
- Your quote draft. Your Instant Quote answers are saved in your own browser's local storage so you can come back to them. They stay on your device until you submit the quote or clear them, and we do not receive them until you submit.
- Call and visit tracking. WhatConverts loads only if you accept analytics cookies. It records how you reached the site and which visits led to a call or enquiry.
- Google services. Web fonts load from Google Fonts, and the contact page includes an embedded Google Map. Both load from Google's servers, so Google receives your IP address and basic browser information, and Google's own privacy terms apply to that data.
To change your cookie choice, clear this site's stored data in your browser and you will be asked again.
Your rights
You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it erased, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, to restrict how we use it, to receive information you gave us in a portable format, and to withdraw consent where we rely on it. Some rights apply only in certain circumstances.
To make a request, email info@ealingpainters.co.uk. We will respond within one month, which the law allows us to extend in some cases. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this notice
We will update this notice if the way we handle personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. Questions are welcome through the contact page.
