Ealing Painters
Terms and conditions
These terms cover your use of this website and explain how our estimates and quotes work. Please read them before using the Instant Quote.
About these terms
This website is run by Ealing Painters, Ealing, London W5 (info@ealingpainters.co.uk, 0333 057 7942). By using the site you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
The Instant Quote is an indicative range
The Instant Quote produces a price range from your answers and photos. It is an indicative guide, not an offer, a quote or a contract, and it cannot be accepted. Prices shown elsewhere on the site, including on the prices page, are typical examples and exclude VAT.
The actual price depends on things that are hard to judge online, such as the condition of surfaces, access and the preparation needed. The range is also only as accurate as the information you give.
Fixed quotes and when a contract is formed
- A fixed written quote is given by the decorator who will carry out the work, after reviewing your request. Some jobs need a video call or a site visit first.
- A contract for the work is formed only when you accept a fixed quote, and it is made on the terms set out in that quote.
- The scope and specification in the quote define the work included, such as the areas and surfaces, the preparation, the number of coats and who supplies the paint. Anything not listed is not included.
- Payment terms, including any deposit and when payment is due, are set out in each quote.
- VAT is added where the decorator is VAT-registered, and the quote will show this.
Changes to the work
If you want to change the work, or if something is found once work has started that could not reasonably have been seen before, the change and any effect on price or timing will be explained and agreed with you before it is done.
Your right to cancel
If you are a consumer and you agree a contract away from the trader's business premises (for example, in your home during a visit) or at a distance (for example, by phone, email or online), the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 usually give you 14 days to cancel without giving a reason. For a contract for services, the period runs from the day after the contract is made.
- To cancel, tell the decorator clearly within the 14 days, ideally in writing.
- If you ask for work to start within the cancellation period and then cancel, you may have to pay for the work done up to the point you cancel.
- If the work is completed within the cancellation period at your request, you may lose the right to cancel.
For independent guidance on cancellation rights, see Citizens Advice.
